Personal Life of CarDekho Owner Amit Jain

Amit Jain was born and brought up in India and completed his education from Jaipur to Delhi. The knowledge to run a business and make their own identity was already in his genes. His father ran a business of semi-precious gemstones and was an astrologer as a whole. His mother is a homemaker and shares a special bond with his mother and brother Anurag Jain.

Unfortunately, their father passed away due to cancer in 2006 and they have to carry forward the family tradition. Although, the brothers never had any interest in astrology because predictions can sometimes be in favour or sometimes against them. Soon, they decided to quit the family business and took the major decision of their life by starting their own company.

Amit Jain Professional Life

After getting graduated from one of the well-known engineering institutions in India, Jain was hired by Tata Consultancy Services as Software Engineer. As he completed one year as an Engineer in TATA, Jain immediately switched the job hoping for more opportunities and was offered the position of Senior Associate, Delivery Manager and Product Manager at Trilogy (a software-based company located in Austin, Texas).

He returned to his comeback back in the year 2006 after his father was detected with cancer. At that time, he came up with the idea of establishing a million-dollar company IT outsourcing firm in his hometown that will pay for all his efforts with fruitful results.

Establishment of CarDekho

The idea to start CarDekho clicked in his mind when the Jain brothers attended an Auto-Expo in Delhi. That’s when they released to make their separate identity in the market they have to think out of the box and decided to launch CarDekho for all car lovers. The brothers started the business from the garage at their home and soon a team of 20 employees started working with them.

The company’s first year proved to be profitable for them but eventually lost around 1 crore in stocks and were left with no penny in their pocket. The loss taught him a big lesson that helped him to come back with a stronger aim which was to invest the company’s money with sincerity.

Although the tension to clear all their debts and pay the employees were still haunting the brothers, the spirit of keeping fighting helped the company in gaining a huge amount of profits. The turning point entered their lives when they took CarDekho as an official flagship project.
