Ashneer was born and brought up in Delhi and belong to a middle-class family. His father was a Chartered Accountant and his mother was a school teacher but his parents tried to give him the best education by getting his admission done into one of the prestigious schools of Delhi which is Apeejay School. After completing his schooling, he decided to complete his graduation from his home town only.

His father always wanted his son to be a Chartered Accountant (CA) like him and work for a reputed firm but Ashneer wasn’t ready for this and decided to take admission into ‘Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)’ in the ‘B.Tech (Civil Engineering)’ course 2002-2004 academic session. During his graduation days in IIT Delhi, he was one of the brilliant students who got shortlisted for the student exchange program for the university of INSA Lyon Institut National Des Science Appliquees de Lyon, France and was awarded the scholarship amount of ₹5,00,000 from the French Embassy.

After completing his B.Tech in 2004, he took admission into MBA (Finance) for 2004-2006 at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. During those two years, he learned new skills and also grabbed new knowldege about finance and other materials related to the field of Commerce.

During the campus placement by IIM Ahmedabad in 2006, Ashneer was appointed as Vice President at Kotak Investment Banking Banking, Mumbai and worked there for 07 years where he completed around 10 deals with the value of 3 billion dollars. After serving for 07 years, he left Kotak Investment Banking and in the year 2016, he joined as a Director in American Express (Amex) where he got to know the deep knowledge of understanding the concept of payment in India.

In 2015, he worked for Grofers as the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) where he worked with the company founders and got successful in raising millions of capital from the company’s investors. After learning about entrepreneurship and other matters at Grofers, he shifted to PC Jewellers Ltd where he worked as Head of New Business.

After quitting PC Jewellers, Ashneer collaborated with his co-founders and decided to start their own business where they invented ‘Bharat Pe’ in 2018. The Bharat Pe was a result of technology provided by Shashwat and Bhavik and the entrepreneurship of Ashneer. The main aim of the app was to empower the shop owners and Kirana shop owners to accept payments from any payment app for free. The company makes payment acceptance simple by offering merchants a single QR to accept all payment apps such as Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay, BHIM and 150+ other UPI apps.
