  • Precautions: You can safeguard yourself and your family by taking the following precautions:
    • It is essential to wear a properly fitted mask which should cover your nose and always carry a bottle of hand sanitizer wherever you go.
    • Take both the doses of vaccination (if not vaccinated yet).
    • Cover your face with a hankerchief when you are sneezing or coughing.
    • Avoid taking lift if you see large amount of people inside it.
    • Opt for open ventilation space rather then closed one.
    • Wash your hands time to time with hand wash or clean your hand with alcohol based hand-rub.
    • Get youself isolated if you feel sick and inform all those who came in contact with you during that time period.

Guidelines to be followed in India regarding the Omicron Variant

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi instructed all the states that together they can control the Omicron cases in their country by different guidelines especially the three main states i.e. New Delhi, Mumbai and Karnataka where the cases are increasing rapidly.

  • New Delhi: Passengers who’ll be travelling from International countries have to quarantined for 07 days and mandatory to do the RTPCR whose facility will be provided at the airport only. The reported will be available to the passengers within 01 hour on the airport only.
  • Maharashtra: Passengers from International flyers have to be quarantined for 07 days and carry a RTPCR report.
  • Karnataka: It’s mandatory for the international travellers to carry a RTPCR report as Ministry has prepared a list of those countries where the cases of Omicron are increasing frequently.

Other states have announced night curfew from 11:00 pm-05:00 am and State authorities are requesting their residents to maintain the social distancing and also follow the other precautions to protect them from the variant.
