RTE UP Admission 2022: Basic Education Department, Govt. UP has released the 1st term Application Form for RTE UP Admission 2022 starting from 2nd March. The Right to Education Act 2009, provides 25% seat reservation in Private Schools and Government Schools for the children who come under the socially disadvantaged section and economically weaker section of society. Candidates belonging to the category mentioned earlier are eligible for admission in Government and Private schools in Uttar Pradesh. The term RTE stands for Right to Education or The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act is an act of Parliament passed on 4 August 2009. With this Act, education becomes a fundamental right for every child ages between 6 to 14 and also specifies minimum norms in elementary schools.

The candidates who want to apply for RTE UP Admission 2022 can now do so by visiting the official website. To apply offline for the RTE Admission has been removed by the UP government. However, a chance would be given to the parents who are unable to submit the form online on the given date. Parents have to submit the application offline to the District Basic Education Officers for which the date will be notified 5 days before the application window.

Eligibility For The RTE Uttar Pradesh

  • Residents of Uttar Pradesh can apply
  • Students coming from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families are eligible.
  • Child of a widow or orphan are eligible
  • Students from SC/ST/PwD background can apply.


For LKG/UKG: The age should be between 3 to 6 years. Should not be more than 6 years

For 1st Class:  Between 6 to 7 years

Documents Required for RTE Uttar Pradesh Admission

The following documents are required for the RTE UP admission by the Basic Education Department. Do not forget to keep these documents ready at the time of filling the application form as these are essential for approval of the admission. 

  • Recent Passport Size Photo of the candidate 
  • Birth Certificate for age proof
  • Family Income Proof as well as Category Proof
  • Aadhaar Card
  • BPL Ration Card

The documents which have to be uploaded on the admission portal should be valid and well scanned. The size for documents should not be more than 100 MB.

How to apply for RTE UP Admission?

Candidates can apply from all over the state and the application has to be submitted online through the official website. To submit the application, candidates first have to register themselves. 

How to Register?

  1. First visit RTE UP official website http://rte25.upsdc.gov.in/index.aspx
  2. On your right side you can see ‘Online Application/New Student login’, click on it.
  3. New page will appear, click on ‘New Student Registration
  4. Now, fill out all the required details as well as upload the documents and click on ‘Register’
  5. Student registration slip will display, note down your registration number and click on ‘complete the form’

Application Form Filling

Now That you have successfully registered yourself with the RTE UP official website. Now fill out the application form.

  1. Enter parent’s name, provide alternate phone number and address and Do Not forget to select the ward or else school name will not be shown to you.
  2. After filling out all the necessary details asked in the application, upload the scanned documents by browsing the photo on the page of the portal.
  3. After uploading all the required documents on the page of the portal, click on the ‘Click Here to Upload All Images’
  4. If the document is not of desired size then you can edit the photos on MS-Paint and Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
  5. After uploading all the documents you will reach a page where you will be given a chance to edit any photo by clicking ‘Change Document Image’
  6. Now the candidates can select the school of their choice from the drop down list.

They can select from 1 to 10 schools. Fill the captcha and click ‘save’

  1. After you are done filling the details, don’t forget to read the form thoroughly to avoid any mistakes as any mistake can lead to form rejection.
  2.  If no editing is required then click on ‘lock and final print’ option. Keep the hardcopy for the future.

After taking out the print, a page will be shown on the screen displaying whether the application has been completed or not.

RTE UP Student Login

After filling out all the information, the candidate can now login into the RTE UP website

  1. Visit the official website
  2. Click on ‘Online registration/New Student Login’
  3. Now fill the registration number and mobile number and complete the step by filling the captcha. Login is successful.

RTE UP Admission Student Application Status

Candidates can visit the official website to check their application status. To do so follow the steps below

  1. Open the official website http://rte25.upsdc.gov.in/index.aspx
  2. On the left side of the home page screen, click on the tap named as ‘Student Application Status’
  3. A new page will appear. Here, select your district from the drop down box and enter the Registration ID that has been provided to you
  4. The final step would be to enter captcha code on the box and click on the ‘search’ tab. Student application status will appear.

RTE UP Lottery 2022

The selection of candidates for RTE UP is done in accordance with the Lottery System.

Candidates will be allotted a random number and a decision will be taken through a draw of the lot. Then the candidates will be finalised to take admission in RTE affiliated schools about which they will be informed through SMS or e-mail.

RTE UP Lottery Result Date

Candidates can check lottery results on the RTE UP official website soon when the results are out. To check the lottery result follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Visit RTE UP official website http://rte25.upsdc.gov.in/index.aspx
  •  On the right hand side of the screen, there is a tab named ‘Lottery Result’. Click on it.
  • A new page will appear, here all the information regarding lottery result will be displayed
  • Candidates can check their name on the lottery result list.

Post Selection

  • Documents will be verified of the candidates who are selected by the lottery system. That is why it is necessary to provide the valid documents
  • Then the school as well as the student will be notified about the selection for the RTE UP admission.
