• Each section of a class will have 40 students.
• Admission will be made for class 6th but lateral admissions will be conducted for classes 7th- 9th. (Although 2023-24 admissions will be conducted for 6th only.)
• Students will have to go through a selection exam called Odisha Mining Adarsha Vidyalaya Entrance Test (OMAVET).

  • 50% of seats are reserved for girls.

• A resident of Odisha State. (Exceptions for OMC Employee wards.)
• Wards of OMC employees and permanent residents of the OMC regions.

• Candidates can only apply for one OMAV at a time.

• OMC wards can apply to the OMAV region where their parent is stationed.
• The application will be considered based on residence and not on which school they’re currently studying. Therefore, students whose schools are beyond the region of the OMC can apply if they live in the OMC region.
