PM Yuva Yojana For Writers Yuva Mentoring Scheme: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has time to time release his schemes or programs, known as Yojna, for the welfare of the public. These schemes are released by the government of India either by the central government individually or in collaboration with the state government. After 2014, Prime minister Narendra Modi’s government launched many schemes for the valid beneficiary of India. Different categories of schemes launched by the government include woman’s welfare programs, youth welfare schemes, farmer welfare schemes and many more are being run by the government.

The main objectives of the government in launching this PM Yuva Yojana is to strengthen different strata of society, to make our country self-dependent in all aspect,s and to make sure that the beneficiary is getting advantage of the schemes. These schemes are started by the government keeping in mind the needs of all the sections of society like the lower caste section, economically weaker section, and middle-class section. The government also aims at improving the economical status of the country, developing of country, imparting quality services to the countrymen, improving health services, improving the employment status, and enhance the environmental state of the country.

About PM Yuva Yojana

On 8th June 2021, our honourable Prime minister Narendra Modi released a national scheme through his Twitter account for the young writers of our country igivenenhancing and strengthening the youth powers of the country. The scheme is named YUVA as it is focused on the young section of countrymen. The official Twitter handle of Narendra Modi announced “Here is an interesting opportunity for youngsters to harness their writing skills and also contribute to India’s intellectual discourse.” He has also given the link to Twitter where the writers can check other important details of the scheme.

PM Yuva Yojana

The government has first time focused and given importance to the writing skills of the Indian youths. The YUVA Yojana is made for the mentorship of the young writers of the country. Under the mentorship the youths will be trained such that they can represent and show our country and its culture internationally. The writers will also be trained to express themselves on international platforms.

PM Yuva Writer Yojana Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates must be under 30 years of age.
  • Candidates may apply from any state of India.
  • Foreign candidates cannot apply.
  • This scheme is only for young writers to apply for.

How to apply for PM Yuva Yojana?

  • Go to the official website of the Government of India: www.mygov.in.
  • Press “Apply Online” on the homepage of the website.
  • In the application form, fill all the credentials. It is important to attach the documents asked in the form.
  • Click on submit button at bottom of the page.
  • The application process will be completed when the submit button is clicked.

PM Yuva Yojana Selection Process

In total, 75 writers from all over the country will be selected. The selection will be done through a contest on an India basis at MyGov. The writers will be selected by a committee whose members will be from National Book Trust (NBT). The competition will be held from 4th June to 31st July 2021. Candidates have to register through the link provided on Twitter. The writers are required to prepare and submit a text script of 5000 words. The writers will be judged based on this manuscript to make it a perfect book in the Mentorship Scheme. The names of the authors who are selected will be revealed on 15th August 2021 i.e., Independence Day.

After selection, the writers will compose manuscripts, under the mentorship of nominated mentors, which will be finally selected. The final selection will be done by the 15th of December 2021 after reading all the entries given for the final selection. The selected books will be revealed on 12th January 2022 i.e., on National Youth Day or the YUVA DIVAS.

TRAINING – PHASE 1 (3 months)

For the selected authors, the National Book Trust will conduct an online programme of two weeks for writers. Two distinguished authors from the National Book Trust committee of eminent authors and writers are selected to train and guide the young authors. When the two weeks programme will be over, the authors will be trained for another two weeks. It will be an online National Camp organised by NBT

PROMOTION – PHASE 2 (3 Months)

The writers that are selected have to enhance their understanding and sharpen their skills and qualities by interacting with members and personalities at events of international level like Book Festivals, fairs, Virtual book fairs, Cultural programmes and many more. An aggregated amount of Rs 3 Lakh will be given to the writers. This is calculated on Rs 50000 per month basis which is under the mentorship scheme.

National Book Trust of India will publish the books or the series of books prepared by young writers during the programmes. 10 percent royalty will be paid to the writers on the publication of their books successfully. Their books will be translated into other Indian languages confirming the interchange of culture as well as literature among states. The government of India aims at promoting Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat Yojana.

National Book Trust of India (NTA)

Founded in 1957, National Book Trust is an autonomous publishing body of India in the Indian Ministry of Education. It was the vision of Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first prime minister of India, to make National Book Trust independent of bureaucracy as well as produce books at a low cost. Its main objective is to take all the necessary steps to enlighten the interest of books people of India.

The National Book Trust produce a newsletter monthly which includes the names of books published recently. National Book Trust publishes, promotes books and reading, promotes Indian books outside India, assists writers and authors and promotes culture and literature in children. Works of the National Book Trust are published in different Indian Languages for people from different age groups. Its headquarters are in Vasant Kunj, Delhi.
